Simulating the brain, June 27th 7pm

Projects like Blue Brain (EPFL) aim at simulating the whole human brain at molecular level.
How far are we from that ?

Two presentations as a basis for further discussions

– Joaquín Keller:
Turing machines step by step. The Church-Turing thesis about computation, humans and physics. The limits of Turing-computability: hypercomputation and the laws of physics.
– Romain Cazé :
Modeling neurons:  Passive dendrites enables to compute linearly non-separable functions.
