Visual Sedimentation – Workshop

VisualSedimentation.js is a JavaScript library for visualizing streaming data, inspired by the process of physical sedimentation. Data streams can be Tweets, SVN/git commits, mail etc. They can either be coming live, or generated from the dump of a live record. Data can also be a ratio that is reflected by the tokens density. Visual Sedimentation is built on top of existing toolkits such as D3.js (to manipulate documents based on data), jQuery (to facilitate HTML and Javascript development) and Box2DWeb (for physical world simulation).

During this worksop we will, first present the Visual sedimentation Design space and second show how to setup a visualization from existing dataflow like RSS feed or mail account.

The workshop will be make by  Samuel Huron, phd student at INRIA Aviz team,
