Evolution and Consciousness, May 23th, 7pm

Consciousness has not been there ever since: at some point in the history of humanity, at some point in our child life, consciousness emerges.
Understanding how consciouness emerges or have emerged will help in defining what consciouness is, but also it may help in making it happen in machines (if not meaningless).
To start the discussion about this topic, two presentations (so far):
Joaquin Keller: “intro: questions and hypothesis about the emergence of consciousness”
Mélanie Strauss: “What is consciousness, a neurocognitive approach”

when: starting 7PM May 23th
where: http://www.cri-paris.org/en/accueil-cri/informations-pratiques/

the slides by Mélanie are here
